Not only the two white-dressed BioTissue ladies distributing Swiss chocolates were an eye catcher at the ICRS 09 in Miami.
Also the BioTissue Lunch Symposium was a well-visited event to present the newest clinical outcomes, introduce the ongoing scientific projects and deepen surgical aspects such as the importance of a stable fixation.
Three international renowned Surgeons reported about their scientific projects and clinical experience with chondrotissue® and BioSeed®-C:
C. Erggelet, MD, PD (Switzerland) introduced the 4-years follow-up outcomes with BioSeed®-C, the stable autologous chondrocytes graft. This method showed to be particularly successful in the treatment of degenerative cartilage defects such as osteoarthritis. Go to the lecture
T. Zantop MD (Germany) presented his 1-year clinical follow-up with the cell-free matrix chondrotissue® and the arthroscopic fixation with resorbable pins (SmartNails™). He underlined the importance of a right pin insertion angle on the basis of mechanical studies. Go to the lecture
R. Verdonk MD, PhD (Belgium) introduced the BioTissue clinical multicentric trial and presented an overview of conventional cartilage treatments. He outlined the advantages of a one-step procedure in comparison to traditional techniques such as mosaicplasty and simple marrow stimulating methods with poor short-term results. Go to the lecture
The Symposium was followed by a workshop organized in collaboration with ConMed Linvatec. On this occasion T. Zantop, MD showed the arthroscopic pin fixation of the BioTissue scaffolds using SmartNail™.
At the same time BioTissue launched a press release to focus the attention of the media on the latest clinical results and the ongoing European clinical trial. Go to the press release
The ICRS was a successful event where BioTissue could strengthen its leadership position on the cartilage repair market and could promote its innovative character based on a long lasting experience.
Thanks to all the visitors and lecturers for attending the BioTissue events!
